Savage Garden
Come, take my hand.
Lead me to that promised land.
Where beasts roam dressed in crinoline and lace.
Fatal yearnings set upon their face.
The sky is clear and velvet blue.
The sun reflects the morning dew.
A million diamonds scattered on the glen.
Silent warnings blowing in the wind.
Mary, Mary, I want to know.
How does your savage garden grow?
Petaled thorns and poison on the vine.
Your wicked seeds, they harvest the sublime.
Such beauty as I've never seen.
And the evil woven in between.
Attraction and Seduction move as one.
My soul is bared, my will has come undone.
My thoughts begin to flow and ebb.
Eden, or a spider's web?
This savage place has snared another prey.
But even now, I would not run away.
Mary, you have stole my heart.
Be gentle with this final part.
I can see your hungered eyes begin to harden.
It's the price one pays to stroll your Savage Garden.
