Cadaver
Last night I had a dream. A brief repose from my wide-eyed dreads. I went floating down a stream. And then the waters turned to red.
I heard you laugh in mockery. Delighted with my pain. Your blazing eyes stared down on me. And seared my open veins.
I sought out asylum. But the wounds never mend. If you love me at all. Then please. Just let it end.
Tortured when I wake. Haunted while I sleep. When will I be released? When will I finally rest in peace?
Eviscerate me. Desecrate me. Nail me to your cross unblessed. You've crucified my sanity. My heart. My soul. So now just take the rest.
I kid myself. Because I know my fate. I've read the epitaph. Upon my slate.
"He wanted love, but could not have her." "So here he lies in state." "As her cadaver."
